The new entry approach responded to the hospital’s need to relocate the patient entrance and drop-off on a challenging and constrained urban campus. A master site plan was developed to accommodate both emergency and public vehicular circulation, and to reconfigure and restripe the existing parking lots. The landscape master plan defined pedestrian routes, paving, planting, irrigation, and landscape accessories. A landscaped courtyard was created to accommodate cafeteria seating and meditation, and specimen plants were relocated to fit seamlessly into the new design.
