LWDA is working with Navigator Homes and Martha’s Vineyard Hospital to design a replacement for the Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Each of 5 homes will house 14 elders, and will include individual bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens for all residents. Each home features a large living area surrounding a hearth for congregating and activities, and a screened-in porch that overlooks the secure pocket park.

A large focus of the Green House model is helping elders maintain their freedom of choice and self-direction by encouraging them to interact with their living space. Workforce housing will also be located on site and serve both the Elder Homes and hospital.
