This mixed occupancy eldercare project on a tight urban site in downtown Quincy includes a 142-bed nursing home with a self-contained dementia care unit, 40 Assisted Living units, and an Adult Day Care Center. The mid-rise steel frame structure is clad in masonry and precast veneer. The challenges of the tight sloped site turned into design features: outdoor access from multiple levels, and a landscaped plaza above a partially subgrade parking garage. Careful planning resolved complex issues of security and convenience for multiple access points and elevator banks.
